With a father from Kenya and a mother from Kansas, President Obama was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961. He was raised with help from his grandfather, who served in Patton's army, and his grandmother, who worked her way up from the secretarial pool to middle management at a bank.
After working his way through college with the help of scholarships and student loans, President Obama moved to Chicago, where he worked with a group of churches to help rebuild communities devastated by the closure of local steel plants.
He went on to attend law school, where he became the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review. Upon graduation, he returned to Chicago to help lead a voter registration drive, teach constitutional law at the University of Chicago, and remain active in his community.
President Obama's years of public service are based around his unwavering belief in the ability to unite people around a politics of purpose. In the Illinois State Senate, he passed the first major ethics reform in 25 years, cut taxes for working families, and expanded health care for children and their parents. As a United States Senator, he reached across the aisle to pass groundbreaking lobbying reform, lock up the world's most dangerous weapons, and bring transparency to government by putting federal spending online.

What Kind Of 'Jobs President' Has Obama Been — In 8 Charts

The final chapter of the Obama economy drew that much closer to its end on Friday, with the final jobs report of the 44th president's time in office. That report showed the 75th straight month of job growth, with employers adding 156,000 jobs.
In that way, it was emblematic of how the job market has generally fared since the worst of the Great Recession's aftermath: chugging along, slowly but surely recovering.
With the final Obama administration jobs day in the books, it's a good time to look at how American workers have fared. Donald Trump will inherit a job market that is vastly rehabilitated from devastating lows just a few years ago. However, it has also undergone profound changes that have scarred many American workers.
Unemployment: How low can it go?
As Obama prepares to leave office, the unemployment rate is at 4.7 percent, less than half of the peak it reached in October 2009.
That decline is the result of a prolonged period of job growth. The administration has grown fond of showing off its prolonged run of job growth every month.
Longest streak of total job growth on record ✓
For some perspective, here's how big that job growth was: Obama averaged 109,000 jobs per month. That's far better than either President Bush experienced, but it's well below the 242,000 that Bill Clinton presided over in the roaring 1990s. For Reagan, it was 166,000.
Of course, President Obama came into office as the economy was plunging into a recession (a plunge that also drags down George W. Bush's number). But even if you average out Obama's 75 straight months of job growth, you get 199,000 jobs per month, still shy of Clinton's economy.
In other words, the Obama recovery has been moderate, but remarkably steady. The question is how long that steady climb can continue uninterrupted. The unemployment rate is already near a nine-year low, as Steven Russolillo at the Wall Street Journal pointed out this week, and there is some question among economists how low it can go.
Wages finally climbing
Having a job is one thing. Having a job that pays well is another. And slowly through Obama's tenure, those wages have inched upward. In fact, wages were one bright spot of Friday's jobs report. Average hourly wages were up by 2.9 percent in December. After several years of hovering around 2 percent, that's welcome growth.
Aside from meaning more money in workers' pockets, wage growth serves as yet another sign of a tightening labor market, signaling that employers are willing to pay more to attract workers.
Rising wages may inspire the Federal Reserve to take its foot further off the gas pedal in the coming months (that is, allow interest rates to rise) — a reminder that the economy isn't exactly under the president's control. (More on this later.)
Labor force participation is low, but what does it mean?
This one became a flashpoint in the presidential election, with Trump at times pointing out how much the labor force shrank under Obama. The main measure of this is the labor force participation rate — that is, the percentage of people who are either working or looking for work (that is, who are in the labor force).
That figure was at 65.7 percent in January 2009, at the start of Obama's presidency, and today is at 62.7 percent — a steep drop. And today, the figure is well below its 2000 high of 67.3 percent.
But it's not clear how bad or how benign that change is. Many Americans are out of the labor force and entirely happy about it. Quitting work to retire, for example, is a totally nonalarming reason to leave the labor force. But then, there may be many people who, facing a tough job market, have given up looking for work. That's not good, and it also happened for many Americans both during and after the recession.
In the aftermath of the recession, economists have tried to figure out exactly how many people are voluntarily versus involuntarily out of the labor force. As of 2014, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office estimated that half the decline in the participation rate at that time had come from "long-term trends" like aging — as baby boomers age, that means a large chunk of the population will naturally retire. But that left half of the decline a result of economic weakness and a slow recovery, in the CBO's estimation.
Should the participation rate hold steady or creep upward during a Trump presidency, that could keep the unemployment rate from dropping, as only Americans who are looking for work are counted as "unemployed." That would be one of those cases where a slightly higher unemployment rate could be a good thing.
Improvement for part-time workers
Full-time job growth over the course of the Obama presidency has far outstripped part-time job growth, as FiveThirtyEight's Ben Casselman has pointed out.

Of course, some of those people working part time want to be working part time, and some don't. Another bright spot here is that the share of those workers who are involuntarily part time has fallen off.
However, that figure is still a fair bit higher than it was prior to the recession (and that level was itself, in turn, higher than it was before the prior recession). That's one place where there could still be some improvement — there are still about 1 million more of those involuntary part-time workers than there were prior to the recession.
An economy more about doing than making
Politicians of both parties love to talk about manufacturing. Obama pushed manufacturing initiatives throughout his presidency, and Trump built much of his economic message during the campaign around singing the praises of America's manufacturers.
But when it comes to employment, the goods-producing share of the economy has continued to fall. Throughout the past few decades, the share of Americans who make things — people in manufacturing, mining, logging and construction — has fallen off, and that trend continued during the recent recession, finally flattening out toward the end.
We present this chart over a longer time frame, which makes it a little bit of a cheat — this isn't exactly a measure of Obama's "record on jobs." Nor is it necessarily a measure of economic weakness in fact, manufacturing has, thanks to technological advances, maintained strong output while shedding workers.
It's a reminder that all the usual macroeconomic indicators (unemployment, wages, labor force participation, GDP) can quantify a lot of things in the economy, but you have to dig in to learn about the quality of that economy — what exactly is going on behind those numbers. This decline in goods-producing jobs doesn't signal that the economy is getting worse or better — it's just changing, in this case to become more focused on providing services, instead of goods.
All of this is to say that Trump inherits a job market that is humming along comfortably, given how poor of shape it was in only recently. But it's also an economy that has sharply moved away from manufacturing and other goods-producing industries — the very ones he pushed the most in the election. That change has hurt plenty of Americans, despite the job market's improvement.
Trump has tried to claim credit for several hundred goods-producing jobs here and there (credit that he doesn't always deserve, as the Washington Post's Philip Bump has reported), but bringing manufacturing employment back in a sizable way seems like a tall order for any president. Furthermore, alternative work — like driving an Uber or Lyft — continues to grow quickly as a share of the economy. That change could eventually require policy attention, as more workers take jobs that don't come with benefits.
But there's another big caveat here. Presidents get lots of credit and blame for the economy's performance, despite the fact that they don't really have firm control over that performance. (If they did, why would recessions ever happen?)
Yes, a president can push an economic agenda and in some cases push particular policies that end up having a sizable impact on the economy (see: the 2009 stimulus package, which undeniably had a positive impact).
But they also need Congress to enact those policies. Not only that, but the Federal Reserve has its own set of controls — a set to which the president does not have access, despite some conspiracies of politically motivated Fed scale-tipping.
So, like Obama, whatever happens to the economy under Trump, he may not deserve whatever credit he may claim (and the same goes for whatever blame is thrown his way).

This past Saturday afternoon, without any warning, my 3rd Web Hosting Co, “APOLLO,” shut REAL JEW NEWS down due to pressure once again by the wicked Haters of Freedom of Speech, the “Anti Defamation League.”
The ADL is run by the Jew, Abraham Foxman, who calls the New Testament “Anti Semitic.” Foxman, the wicked Anti Christ Jew ,has called for the New Testament to be banned, this wicked Anti Christ Jew. Where was Foxman when the New Testament was burned by the hundreds in Israel 6 months ago? Not a peep out of his wicked Anti Christ mouth!
The ADL is a very powerful “Israel Lobby” which has a branch in Jerusalem. Thus they are lying that their mission is to ‘combat’ Anti Semitism. No, the ADL’s mission is to STOP all criticism of Israel and promote this racist, murderous, rogue state.

BUT - I am out of much money and will be forced to borrow money from some Credit Cards if I cannot raise some funds.
Recently I asked for help for an upcoming Washington DC trip. Not too many were willing to help out. It looks like I will have to cancel the trip due to this surprize hit from the ADL and the high costs incurred to switchover once again.
REAL JEW NEWS averages 180,000 visits, not including page visits per month. But VERY FEW are willing to help out with appeals and to keep this site running which COSTS MUCH MONEY. As events have unfolded since the “False Flag” operation known as 911 it has become clear that the Israeli Mossad pulled off this horrific assault on America to blame it on innocent Arabs. It was just another in a long list of attacks on the one country that gave Jews a free country to grow up in and enjoy freedom in. What was not clear however at the time was their organized attacks on the Christian religion. It wasn’t until 2004 that Rabbi David Feldman made his assault on Mel Gibson urging the Justice Department to “arrest Mel Gibson as a terrorist” for making the movie The Passion of The Christ.
That should have told Christian ministers like John Hagee and Pat Robertson something at once and they should have stood up for the bible and the truth. Instead they supported that anti-Christ movement known as Zionism and downplayed the Jewish role in the murder of Christ and even urged Christians to give even more financial support to Israel, citing Romans 15:25 claiming that Paul told Christians to give to Israel. Nothing could have been further from the truth. Paul was asking that the “Christians in Jerusalem” be helped, not the Jews. Our Christian ministers have lost their connection to Christ, the head of the church, and are twisting scripture to fit their own delusions. As Paul said they’d “want to believe all these lies.”
If you give tithes or offerings to any of these “anti-Christ ministries” or to a local church that is failing to sound the alarm for these last days, I urge you to change your giving to Brother Nathaniel. He is the one who has exposed the true anti-Christ movement for these last days. Those Christians who don’t study their own bibles have fallen for the deception of Hagee and Robertson completely and they are supporting the secular and terrorist state of Israel.
The false Rapture Doctrine is what Satan used to pull off this deception. Abe Foxman of the Jewish Anti Defamation League is trying to get the New Testament banned as “anti-Semitic” or “hate speech.” You may think that such a thing can’t be done, but you’d better think again. We are facing the final battles of the war between Christ & Satan and Brother N needs your help to keep the information coming our way. He is exposing the attacks made on Jesus Christ by the Synagogue of Satan.
So please do all you can to set aside one tenth of your income as tithe for Brother N or give what ever you can to his cause. We are going to see tens of millions of Christians swept aside by the deception of Satan as Christian ministers urge them to support terrorism masked as “the chosen people” when WE are “God’s Chosen People.” Anybody who trusts in Jesus Christ for salvation. The Time of Trouble is now upon us and Satan’s forces are crashing the economy so they can install electronic means of buying and selling. Once that is set up anybody who refuses to go along with the false religion they will install, will be cut off from the money grid that everybody will be using to buy and sell. The bankers are going to use derivatives to pull down the world economy and install their money system.
They are not telling the public what this “derivative melt down” is about to do. It is so much money that the entire world doesn’t have enough money to prop it up.

When this wave hits the world will have no other choice but to set up a new money system, and that’s when they will change over to the computerized debit system using a tiny radio chip inserted in the right hand or forehead to buy and sell. Maybe one day you will get past the puppet leaders you see and really get to the heart of the matter. Pretty much if you see them they are only puppets, except maybe for Rockefeller and Rothschild. If you people would only dig deeper you would be amazed at what you would find. This is a global problem, wake up now, all this “show” is for division among the masses, which seems to be working.
You speak of the “false rapture” doctrine, evidently condemning the belief that some people will be “left behind” shortly to face God’s wrath and judgment but by merely calling it false without providing a biblical basis for your argument is hardly convincing, and has been the order of the day.
Christians who advocate an imminent rapture of the righteous are actually speaking of an imminent resurrection of the righteous - the words “rapture” and “resurrection” are actually understood to be more or less synonymous and resurrection is of course a biblical doctrine upheld by all mainline churches.
The fact is that the doctrine of a rapture or resurrection, leaving the wicked or unjust behind is prefigured in Old Testament texts, plainly stated in both the gospels and epistles on several occasions, and has been upheld by the so-called fathers of the church.
You cannot read this scripture: “then shall two be in the field the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill the one shall be taken the other left”, and say this is not a resurrection or rapture leaving the unjust behind to face judgment, without being condemned yourself as a heretic. For it is an apostolic doctrine upheld by the church fathers that a resurrection or rapture of the righteous precedes that of the unjust to judgment.
Debate over the foregoing verse, and several other NT verses like it, is not a dispute as to whether or not righteous persons are to be resurrected or raptured leaving the unjust or unreconciled to God behind to face judgment because anyone who can read, and uses the rules of language, which are not arbitrary, can work that out from the texts.
The dispute centres on WHEN the righteous precede the wicked in resurrection and in the context of an imminent social cataclysm of horrendous proportions and the revelation of the antichrist, it almost invariably comes done to a diffence in opinion by seven years.
I’m aware that some Christans do not use the verses from the gospel of Matthew I’ve quoted above to apply to an imminent resurrection of the church, the body and bride of Christ, but to the resurrection of the righteous that convert after them during the biblical “great tribulation”, and/or to the righteous that will be raised after a thousand year reign of Christ, and that they only use verses in the epistles and the Revelation, but that is another doctrinal issue.
The point I’m making is that it is not heresy and never has been to state that a resurrection or rapture of the righteous will shortly leave the unjust or unreconciled to God behind on earth to face judgment.

I am not a follower of John Nelson Darby, but I’ve read his works, and more than a hundred hard bound volumes of his followers, and I can tell they’re easily the most profound commentaries on the life of Christ and scripture in general, outside of the good book itself.
Interesting isn’t it, that almost all who condemn Darby’s doctrine have never read his works, no doubt because they can’t handle the meat of the word. The so-called church fathers read the doctrine of the rapture or resurrection in the gospels and epistles, but generally declined to provide details on it and I understand the book of the Revelation is not in the liturgy of the Orthodox Church.

What policies do they have in mind? The oil will soon run out, does it mean they have in mind to severely lower the American standard of living? Do they, as some allege, plan the North American Union and the amero?
Do they plan to just do away with the United States the same as with the Soviet Union?
The idea that Obama is an independent personality is folly. His rallies probably are scripted just as his speeches, with paid actors providing the enthusiasm. But once he is elected, any critisism of him will run against charges of racism as a means to shut people up - we can see it already.
Thus, do we elect a man without experience, without a base, without good moral fiber? Have we, in other words, gone insane? If we elect him, the people behind him, what will they do to the United States?

I have a question though, and perhaps as a former Jew you have some insight. I have seen many Israelis on the web recently attacking Brzezinski as an “anti-semite” and architect of Islamic terror. It seems there is a fairly substantial continent of “conspiracy theorists” in the Jewish community who fear Brzezinski.
They claim that he is responsible for Ahmadinejad’s invitation to Columbia university, among other things. Yet I found on wikipedia that Brzezinski’s father was honored in Israel by Begin for saving Jews during the holocaust… I found this strange.
Should we put any stock in Israel’s fear of Brzezinski? Do his trilateralists oppose Jewish hegemony in some way? Or is this all just wagging the goy? It seems to me that Brzezinski must be in league with Rothschild, is it possible that there is competition among the factions that make up the elite?

EcoHealth Alliance and coronavirus research
The EcoHealth Alliance is a nongovernmental research group that focuses on emerging diseases caused by human and animal interactions. The National Institutes of Health has consistently funded the organization for projects since at least 2002.
In 2014, the NIH approved a grant to EcoHealth Alliance designated for research into “Understanding the Risk of Bat Coronavirus Emergence.” The project involved collaborating with researchers at the Wuhan Institute of Virology to study coronaviruses in bats and the risk of potential transfer to humans.
The original five-year grant was reapproved by the Trump administration in July 2019. In total, $3,378,896 in NIH funding was directed from the government to the project.
The project, which was established “to understand what factors allow coronaviruses, including close relatives to SARS, to evolve and jump into the human population,” yielded 20 scientific reports on how zoonotic diseases may transfer from bats to humans.
Over the course of the two grants approved by the NIH for EcoHealth Alliance, the Wuhan Institute received about $600,000 from the NIH, according to Robert Kessler, a spokesperson for EcoHealth Alliance. The funding was a fee for the collection and analysis of viral samples.
In the grant approved in 2014, about $133,000 was sent to the institute in the first four years and about $66,000 in the past year. In the second grant approved in 2019, about $76,000 was budgeted for the Wuhan Institute, though no money was sent before the grant's termination.
“It's hard to do this work in other countries. Very complicated. It requires a lot of traveling. It would be so convenient if we could do it in our own backyards,” Peter Daszak, president of the EcoHealth Alliance, told USA TODAY. “The viruses that are a high risk to public health are not in the U.S., they are in China. If we want to know anything about the next pandemic, we need to be working in the countries where these viruses are.”
On April 23, the NIH informed EcoHealth Alliance that it would no longer receive funding from the agency and that the remainder of its grant had been rescinded.
“NIH can confirm that the grant to EcoHealth Alliance Inc. has been terminated. The grant was for $3.4 million over 6 years distributed across all sites: the primary awardee, EcoHealth Health Alliance Inc. (New York), and sub-awardees, Wuhan Institute of Virology (Wuhan), East China Normal University (Shanghai), the Institute of Pathogen Biology (Beijing), and Duke-NUS Medical School (Singapore),” the NIH said in a statement to USA TODAY. “NIH does not discuss details of the decision-making process regarding specific grant awards.”
The agency cited a statement from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence that the intelligence community was continuing to investigate the origins of COVID-19.
“The U.S. federal government checks whether it is OK to work with places like the Wuhan Institute of Virology. We never work with any lab or organization unless it has been preapproved by the U.S. government and/or its agencies,” Daszak told USA TODAY.
It is not uncommon for the United States to fund research projects in other countries. The NIH annually grants more than $32 billion in biomedical research funding to organizations around the world.
The National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases, the subset of the NIH that handles disease research, funds 8,598 active projects totaling $5,927,849,026. Many of those projects, which vary in their research goals, take place in more than a dozen countries outside the USA, in addition to thousands within the country.
The Wuhan Institute of Virology is a state-controlled research institute in Wuhan, China, the city where SARS-CoV-2 probably originated. Established in 2015, the laboratory was China’s first Level 4 biosafety facility, the highest standard meant to handle highly infectious or otherwise deadly pathogens.
Controversy around the institute’s possible involvement in the origins of the coronavirus continue at the highest levels of the American and Chinese governments. There is no known evidence that funding directed by the U.S. government to the Wuhan Institute of Virology helped lead to the pandemic.
The projects funded by the Obama and Trump administrations produced research that highlighted the risk of an outbreak like SARS-CoV-2 in southern China. The abstract proposal for the project cited concerns that a disease like SARS-CoV, or the earlier SARS outbreak, would arise from the region.
“Our mission is to understand the origins of pandemics and to help prevent them. What we found was that China is a hot spot for emerging disease,” Daszak said of EcoHealth Alliance’s research efforts. “And when these diseases get into people, they then travel on airplanes and the viruses always come to countries that do the most traveling: the U.S. and in Europe. The reason we do this work is to protect public health.”

So while commenters here have been talking about Dr. Kate for a while, I really haven’t dug into her blog. My blog was intended to be more about conspiracy theories rather than the conspirators themselves however, one cannot avoid the personalities because the conspiracy theories don’t exist apart from those who make them up.
So back to Dr. Kate. I added her to my blog list, down at the bottom of the page, in the “BAD” column. I have now promoted her to “UGLY” based on this.
I’M NO FAN OF RIOTS, FIGHTING, BUT SOMEONE HAS TO START THIS, GETTING OBAMA OUT..NOW WHO IN THE U.S.A. HAS BALLS TO BRING THE SUBJECT UP? CITIZENS FEAR THE GOVERNMENT. THAT IS ONE THING WE SHOULD NOT FEAR..THE HIGHEST JUDGES WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS? Dr. Kate has been spewing high-grade sedition and hate on her blog for almost a year and a half now, and I think that she has been looking to ramp things up in the wake of convicted felon Lakin’s court martial (which she attended) and the loss of her government job (anyone interested in hiring a Constitutional hydrologist with seditious tendencies, deep misunderstandings about the Constitution, and a belief in magic water should contact her for a resume…). The traffic on her blog has increased substantially since this fall – she had about 7 unique IDs posting on her site per day from March through October which steadily increased to nearly 15 IDs/day in January (the number of comments per day went from about 20-30 in the summer and early fall to over 100 in January). Huckabee: Obama Grew Up “In Kenya”

During a radio appearance yesterday, Mike Huckabee repeatedly falsely claimed that President Obama grew up in Kenya. After questioning Obama’s purported secrecy about the birth certificate, radio host Steve Malzberg asked Huckabee if “we deserve to know more about this man.” Huckabee responded, “I would love to know more. What I know is troubling enough.”
Speaking on WOR’s The Steve Malzberg Show, Huckabee — a Fox News host and potential presidential candidate — said that “one thing that I do know is his having grown up in Kenya, his view of the Brits, for example, very different than the average American … his perspective as growing up in Kenya with a Kenyan father and grandfather, their view of the Mau Mau Revolution in Kenya is very different than ours because he probably grew up hearing that the British are a bunch of imperialists who persecuted his grandfather.”

Huckabee replied: “The only reason I’m not as confident that there’s something about the birth certificate, Steve, is because I know the Clintons [inaudible] and believe me, they have lots of investigators out on him, and I’m convinced if there was anything that they could have found on that, they would have found it, and I promise they would have used it.”
PolitiFact has noted that there “is not one shred of evidence to disprove PolitiFact’s conclusion that the candidate’s name is Barack Hussein Obama, or to support allegations that the birth certificate he released isn’t authentic.”
Contrary to Huckabee’s claims, Obama did not grow up in Kenya. Obama spends significant portions of his book Dreams From My Father describing his first visit to Kenya in the late 1980s. On page 304, Obama writes of his arrival at Kenyatta International Airport (emphasis added):
Kenyatta International Airport was almost empty. Officials sipped at their morning tea as they checked over passports in the baggage area, a creaky conveyor belt slowly disgorged luggage. Auma was nowhere in sight, so I took a seat on my carry-on bag and lit a cigarette. After a few minutes, a security guard with a wooden club started to walk toward me. I looked around for an ashtray, thinking I must be in a no-smoking area, but instead of scolding me, the guard smiled and asked if I had another cigarette to spare.
“This is your first trip to Kenya, yes?” he asked as I gave him a light.
“I see.” He squatted down beside me. “You are from America. You know my brother’s son, perhaps. Samson Otieno. He is studying engineering in Texas.”
I told him that I’d never been to Texas and so hadn’t had the opportunity to meet his nephew. This seemed to disappoint him, and he took several puffs from his cigarette in quick succession.
The BBC noted in a 2008 article that “Barack Obama has never lived in Kenya and he has visited the country just three times.”
Additionally, Obama did not grow up “with a Kenyan father and grandfather.” Indeed, Dreams From My Father is largely about Obama’s struggles with the absence of his father. The AP noted in 2006 that Obama “was mostly raised in Hawaii and did not know his Kenyan father well.”

HUCKABEE: The bust of Winston Churchill, a great insult to the British. But then if you think about it, his perspective as growing up in Kenya with a Kenyan father and grandfather, their view of the Mau Mau Revolution in Kenya is very different than ours because he probably grew up hearing that the British were a bunch of imperialists who persecuted his grandfather.
MALZBERG: He despises the west, he despises the Brits, and I think he could take it all out on Israel and that’s why he despises Israel. He’s not too thrilled with our history either. But let me just try to get an answer from you. Would you say to him, or at least ask him in a debate, why did you go to court and spend millions of dollars on lawyers to prevent from having to show your birth certificate. If you have one and it’s there, why not show it?
HUCKABEE: The only reason I’m not as confident that there’s something about the birth certificate, Steve, is because I know the Clintons [inaudible] and believe me, they have lots of investigators out on him, and I’m convinced if there was anything that they could have found on that, they would have found it, and I promise they would have used it.
MALZBERG: Let me just give you one as we end here. The Clintons probably – there was probably a lot on the Clintons that the Obamas could have said, ‘yeah, you do that, we’ll come back with this.’ Don’t think for a minute. You’re from Arkansas you know that better than me. Now, having said that, when are you going to decide to run or not?

The Churchill bust “flap” also is nonsense. The bust belongs to the British government. Tony Blair loaned it to George W. Bush after 9/11. It was returned to the British government as part of the normal redecorating of the Oval Office which occurs when a new President takes over.
The British press briefly raised a ruckus but it died down almost immediately.

He has previously made it clear that he does not believe any of the nonsense about Obama’s birth in Kenya…..he has therefore probably given little attention to the details of Obama’s childhood years abroad (in Indonesia) and has got Indonesia/Kenya thing mixed up in his mind.

I think that this is the likely explanation as well – it makes far more sense than Huckleberry going full birther and breaking new ground to boot…

Trump vs. Obama: Who has the better record on the U.S. economy?
But even looking at the three years before COVID-19 made a mess of things, the U.S. economy under Trump performed about the same as it had during the last three years under President Obama. On some economic measures, it was a little worse, on others a little better — but on the whole, not markedly different. And it was a far cry from the best ever.
Consider: Under Obama from 2014 to 2016, real gross domestic product — the broadest measure of economic activity — grew at an average annual rate of 2.5%. In Trump’s first three years, 2017 to 2019, real GDP expanded by an annual average of 2.6%, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis.
In December 2017 , Trump had talked about GDP rocketing to “4, 5, and maybe even 6% or higher.” But despite his big corporate tax cut, GDP growth didn’t come close to reaching the average yearly gains of 4% in the 1990s and twice that in the early 1950s.
On Thursday the government will release the third-quarter GDP report, which is expected to show a strong recovery from the 31.4% plunge in the prior quarter. Still, for the year as a whole, GDP is projected to fall close to 4% thanks to the pandemic, the sharpest drop in about 75 years.
On employment, the U.S. economy added 6.6 million jobs in Trump’s first three years, shy of the 8.1 million payroll gains in the last three years under Obama.
Trump has often bragged about his record on production jobs, which has particular appeal to his working-class base and to voters in the Midwest. But even here, the difference isn’t much at all.
From the end of 2016 to the close of 2019, the nation added 1.27 million jobs in the blue-collar industries of construction and manufacturing, although factory jobs flattened in 2019 thanks in part to Trump’s trade war with China. That compared with 1.13 million construction and manufacturing jobs gained from 2014 to 2016, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
It’s true that the nation’s unemployment rate fell to a half-century low of 3.5% before the coronavirus outbreak in March, and that jobless figures for Latinos, Blacks and Asians also dropped to the lowest level on record. But economists note that the actual change in unemployment rates over their respective three-year periods was bigger under Obama than under Trump.
In recent months, the Trump campaign has talked about how American household incomes rose faster during Trump’s first three years in office than during the entire eight-year period under Obama. That’s technically correct — median income, adjusted for inflation, went up 5.8% from 2008 to 2016 versus 7.8% from 2016 to 2019, according to the Census Bureau.
But that doesn’t take into account that Obama and Vice President Joe Biden entered office in the middle of the Great Recession. It wasn’t until 2013 that household income stopped bleeding and a recovery began.
Looking at just the last three years of the Obama administration, median income grew by 8.4%, a slightly faster pace than during Trump’s first three years as president.
One measure that has clearly outperformed under Trump is the stock market. The broad Standard & Poor’s 500 index jumped by an annual average of 14.7% from the end of December 2016 to year-end 2019 — about double the gain in the comparable period of Obama’s last three years.
But only a small percentage of Americans own substantial amounts of securities, and market fluctuations have relatively little impact on their daily lives. By comparison, the price of homes, which are held much more widely by Americans, rose on average 4.8% in Trump’s first three years versus 4.9% during Obama’s last three, according to Mark Zandi of Moody’s Analytics.
Trump has consistently held up stock performance as a report card of his stewardship of the economy. The president said in his debate last week that a Biden presidency would be a calamity for the stock market.
But investors pushed up stocks earlier in the fall on rising bets that a Biden victory combined with Democrats taking the Senate and maintaining the House — a so-called blue wave — would actually be a plus for the economy, at least in the short term.
That’s because a unified Democratic government increases the odds of a large fiscal stimulus and infrastructure investment, something along the lines of Biden’s proposal for $2.1 trillion on developing the green economy as well as for traditional projects like roads and bridges.
A Democratic sweep, however, also has potential downside risks for stocks and the economy: Biden has proposed an increase in taxes for corporations and wealthy Americans. That could crimp corporate earnings, eventually spilling into stock values.
At the same time, Jack Ablin, chief investment officer at Cresset Capital in Chicago, noted that Trump’s corporate tax cuts in 2017 didn’t trickle down to boost business spending as promised. Instead, record amounts were used for stock buybacks and returned to investors as dividends, which helped pump up the stock market but did far less for the broader economy.
That’s one reason GDP growth never took off. But lower taxes and less-than-projected government revenue generation, combined with hefty federal spending especially on defense, also sharply raised the nation’s debt levels.
The U.S. budget deficit was larger under Trump in his first three years — about $2.5 trillion — compared with $1.6 trillion under Obama in his last three years, according to the Congressional Budget Office.
If the side-by-side economic comparisons between Trump and Obama are not vastly different, to some degree that reflects the fact that presidents, for all the credit and blame they sometimes claim and get for what happens to the economy, in truth have limited control over the economy.
For much of the year, surveys have shown that Americans view Trump as better for the economy than Biden, although more recently that lead has diminished in some polls.
And even with the pandemic sending the country into recession and darker days almost certainly ahead, Trump garnered an approval rating of 54% on the economy in the latest Gallup poll. That’s second only to President Clinton’s 57% in 1996 among recent presidents who won reelection.
Experts say Trump’s more favorable ratings on the economy, compared with other issues including race relations and foreign affairs, reflect in part his reputation as a businessperson, though information on his income, wealth and taxes remain largely hidden from the public. Economist Zandi adds that the buoyant stock market has helped Trump’s approval rating on the economy, although he calls it ironic.
“The market is up only because the economy is struggling and interest rates are thus low and likely to remain so for some time,” he said.
