The Antarctosaurus is a genre of titanosaur that inhabited the Earth in the Cretaceous period in South America, in turn being one of the largest dinosaurs that has ever lived in the southern hemisphere.
The remains of this dinosaur are first mentioned in print in 1916, although it was not fully described until 1929, when paleontologist Friedrich von Huene wrote a monograph on it.
