Discovered in Argentina, Amargasaurus is known from fragmentary remains. It is similar to the family of dinosaurs of which the Diplodocus, and is distinguished from all other sauropods by the presence of elongated spines running from neck to tail.
The spines are paired and it is possible that these were arranged like two candles, instead of one, which would have increased the surface area of his body and allowed excess body heat to dissipate.
